Doravi makes solid-wood furniture to order. Its site is a catalogue of chairs, tables and sets with dozens of wood, colour and upholstery options, and filter pages that search engines can read.

The brief

The owners edit the catalogue themselves, so every page is built from content they control: eighteen content types, from products and their variants to portfolio entries and redirects.

What it took

  • Filters search engines can read

Colour, material, seat type and chair back each produce a real, server-rendered page, not a filter that exists only in the browser.

  • Edits that show up

A change in the admin reaches the site within about ten seconds, after a conflict between two caches was found and removed.

  • Speed, measured

A speed pass nearly halved the time the page takes to show on a phone. Two ideas that measured worse were rolled back.

The catalogue

Where it stands

Live, and still mine to run: the site, the CMS and the server.
