How this site handles your data.

Who is responsible

Cristian Sarov, a freelance web developer in Bucharest, Romania, runs this site and is responsible for the data described here. To reach me about it, use the contact form on any page or write to me on LinkedIn.

The contact form

When you send the form, I receive your name, your email address, your message and the page you sent it from. I use them only to reply to you. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering the people who write to me (Article 6(1)⁠(f) GDPR), or the steps you ask for before a contract (Article 6(1)⁠(b)).

The message is delivered to my inbox by Resend, an email delivery service that processes it on my behalf. I keep our correspondence while we are in touch, and delete it within 12 months of our last exchange unless we work together.

Visit statistics

I count visits with Umami, which I host myself. It records which pages are viewed and the site that sent you; your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language; and the country, region and city your IP address points to. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, except your choice if you use the button below to stop being counted.

To tell one visit from another, it combines your IP address and browser details with a secret that changes every month and keeps only the resulting code, never the address itself. If your browser sends Do Not Track, you are not counted at all.

I use the statistics to see which pages people read and where they come from, so I can improve the site. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in that (Article 6(1)⁠(f) GDPR). The statistics are deleted after 12 months.

Server logs

The site is served from a server in Germany. Like every web server, it keeps a short log of requests, including IP addresses, to keep the site running and secure, which is my legitimate interest (Article 6(1)⁠(f) GDPR). The logs are deleted after 14 days.

Cookies

The site itself sets no cookies. The interactive demos keep their sample data in your browser’s storage, on this device only.

Your rights

You can ask me for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict its use, and to receive it in a portable form. You can also complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP, at dataprotection.ro.

Where I rely on my legitimate interest, you can object at any time, on grounds relating to your situation. For the visit statistics, the button above does it at once.
